How We Can Make It Work Together.

At the core of successful counselling is the trusting relationship we build together. This relationship is paramount; without it, even the best approaches may falter.

My Specialist Counselling Interests.

I have a strong focus on bereavement counselling, alongside issues of depression and anxiety. My time volunteering with Cruse Bereavement Care for three years has deepened my understanding and empathy in these areas. My lived experiences with depression and anxiety enhance my approach as an accredited counsellor, enabling me to promote kindness and self-compassion actively. Being a woman of a certain age, I draw upon a wealth of life experience, which enriches my practice.

Issues I can help with.

What to Expect

Telephone
Each session will last for 60 minutes.

It is important that we are both in a private space where we can focus and ensure that your confidentiality needs are met.
I will ring you at the agreed time, if you are unable to answer immediately - I will retry in 15 minutes time, beyond this - we will need to book a new session.

I understand that sometimes, events/illnesses may occur which prevent you from being able to fulfil your appointment. In these events,  please contact me with as much notice as possible - this will stop me worrying about you, and will also provide the opportunity to fill the time in a positive way.

Likewise, the counselling relationship is built on trust and if for any reason, I am unable to call you at the agreed time, please rest assured that I will also provide you with as much notice as possible and we will reschedule our call to a date/time that is convenient for you.

Home Visits
If you would like a home visit, please use the 'contact form' so that we can discuss whether this is a suitable option for you. Similar to telephone counselling we will need a safe space, along with privacy as our work together would take place in your home. Therefore, minimal distraction will be needed to ensure that you get the most from your time with me.

Face to face work gives us more scope for creativity or we can simply focus on talking therapy instead.

Online
These sessions are hosted through my profile within Psychology Today. Once you have booked through my booking link, you will receive an email invitation to join the online meeting prior to the session. Similar guidelines apply to the telephone expectations.

I Understand.

I am here to support those who feel lost, lonely, or are seeking change—even when they aren't sure what's wrong. This may be described as an existential crisis; you know something hurts, but it's confusing. Overwhelm is common in our fast-paced world, and counselling can provide a valuable opportunity to re-examine your values and what truly matters to you.
